Ingredients: 1 tablespoon cooking oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 to 2 teaspoons grated gingerroot
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoons balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
Dash ground cloves
1 1/2 cup chopped peeled peaches
1/2 cup dried tart red cherries or raisins
1/3cup toasted chopped almonds
Directions: 1. Heat cooking oil in a medium saucepan. Cook onion, gingerroot and garlic in hot oil, until tender, but not browned.
2. Mix together the sugar and cornstarch. Stir into the onion mixture. Stir in vinnaigrete, lemon juice, mustard, allspice, and cloves, until well blended.Stir in the peaches and cherries or raisins. Cook and stir until slightly thickened and cooked through. If desired, stir in almonds.
