A delicious sweet chutney that can also be made using fresh figs rather than dates if you wish.
Ingredients: 250g fresh dates, pitted and chopped
1 orange, chopped
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon brown sugar
75 mL cider vinegar
75 mL water
Directions: 1. Place dates, orange, ginger, raisins, sugar, vinegar and water in a saucepan and cook, stirring occasionally, over a low heat for 20 minutes.
2. Transfer to warm sterilised jars, seal and label when cold. Store in the refrigerator iuntil required.
